Methodology
Mentonia is not a generic text generator. Every session — hand-written today, AI-generated tomorrow — starts from a curated, cited knowledge base, not from whatever a language model "knows" about meditation.
Where the doctrine comes from
The doctrine behind each technique — guided visualization, mindful breathing, body scan, loving-kindness, mantra, walking meditation, progressive muscle relaxation, expressive writing, gratitude journaling, grounding — is grounded in real academic sources, explicitly cited on each technique’s page. The language model writes and personalizes the narrated script; it never invents doctrine or benefits unsupported by those sources.
What’s real today, and what’s coming in the next phase
The sample sessions in this library are hand-written right now, to faithfully represent what the personalized generator will produce in the next product phase: a unique script for you, with voice and soundscape tailored to your moment, drawn from the same cited knowledge base. You’ll always see the “sample session” label while that’s the case — we don’t promise personalization that isn’t there yet.
Safety and guardrails
Every Mentonia page includes a disclaimer: this app does not diagnose, treat, or replace the evaluation of a mental health professional. The classifier that decides which technique to offer has been tested against a set of 30 reference cases, including edge cases with crisis signals, to verify it escalates to professional help when appropriate and doesn’t trigger false positives on everyday distress — asking for help sleeping or with exam anxiety is not a crisis. We never promise a cure for anxiety, insomnia, or any disorder.
AI transparency
Once the personalized generator is active, every session will clearly state that its script and voice are AI-generated, not delivered by a human instructor, in line with the EU AI Act.
How we verify quality
The need classifier and the cited doctrine go through a set of automated tests before any change; a regression blocks deployment until it’s fixed.
