Meditation for managing social media anxiety

The constant comparison that social media encourages rarely resolves with more scrolling; directing goodwill toward yourself interrupts the comparison loop better than trying to reason your way out of it.

Sample session

If you notice you’ve spent a while comparing yourself to what you see online — seemingly better lives, bodies, successes — put the phone down for a moment. Repeat mentally, slowly: “may I be at peace with my own moment,” “may I not need to compare myself to know I’m okay,” “may I be kind to myself today.” The comparison doesn’t need to vanish all at once — it’s a well-trained habit — but interrupting the loop with these phrases, even if they feel mechanical at first, works better than trying to logic yourself out of it with “social media isn’t real life,” something the mind already knows but doesn’t always feel.
